At about 1:32 P.M., on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Tremont Street in Roxbury and made an on-site arrest of Jenry Gonzalez, 29, of Roxbury, and a 17-year-old juvenile male on firearm charges.
Officers were on directed patrol in the area of Columbus Avenue and observed a motor vehicle with excessive window tint. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Columbus Avenue and Tremont Street. Officers approached the vehicle and, upon making contact with the occupants, immediately recognized several occupants from prior interactions. The occupants were removed from the vehicle, and while conducting a pat-frisk of the vehicle, officers recovered two loaded firearms. Gonzalez and the juvenile male were both placed into custody without further incident.
The firearms were determined to be a Glock 43 loaded with four (4) rounds and a Smith and Wesson 9mm with eleven (11) rounds.
Jenry Gonzalez is to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for Unlawful Possession of ammunition, two (2) counts of Carrying a loaded firearm, two (2) counts of Unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, possession of a firearm with one prior violent/drug crime, and excessive window tint.
The juvenile male is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Juvenile Division on charges of delinquent to wit Unlawful Possession of ammunition, two (2) counts of Carrying a loaded firearm, two (2) counts of Unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
