The Women of CCPO: Jen Kastrava

In honor of National Women’s History Month, we are honoring some of the many talented women who work for the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office through a series of interviews entitled: “The Women of CCPO”

Today, we recognize Jen Kastrava with the IT Department.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

Women’s History Month is when we should celebrate women from all backgrounds, localities, philosophies, deeds, thoughts and so much more. Yes, women could and should be celebrated throughout the year, but it is nice to have this one special month to highlight women.

What woman did you admire growing up and why?

Growing up I most admired my mom. She was — and still is today — always hard working and never gave up on anything. If she wanted something, she was determined and got whatever it was. She has one of the biggest hearts and is the most loyal person I know. She gives her all in everything that she does. She has devoted herself to her work and her family, and always puts everyone else first.  I strive to be even half the woman she is today.

Describe your role at the CCPO:

I work in the Information Technology Department of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.  I am here to help manage, install, teach and assist the employees of the office with all the new…and sometimes old…technology that is consistently evolving.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is when I can help someone with a technological issue that they are unable to figure out. The gratitude on their faces says it all. Many times, these problems are emergent, and I feel good when I can resolve or fix them.

What is your message to young girls interested in pursuing a career path like yours (or to young women in general)?

My advice to the up and coming young women of the world is to work hard, be true, never stop learning new things and always believe in yourself.
