Suspect in Custody, Gun Recovered After Shooting in First Hill

Seattle Police responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of 8th Avenue Wednesday evening.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. police arrived and found a 41-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers provided first aid until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after the shooting, officers located a suspect and took the 36-year-old female into custody. Police served a search warrant on the suspect’s apartment and recovered two handguns. Police learned the suspect was legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
