Officers Assigned to District B2 Make On-Site Firearm Arrest in Dorchester

On Monday, October 3, 2022, at about 10:04 am, Officers assigned to District B-2 conducted a traffic stop in the area of 69 Glenway Street and made an on-site firearm arrest of Tremayne Butler, 32, of Dorchester.

Officers were on direct patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue following a call for shots fired when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.  Officers subsequently conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of 69 Glenway Street.  A subsequent pat-frisk of the vehicle led to the recovery of a loaded firearm.  Butler was taken into custody without incident.  A query of CJIS revealed that Butler was also wanted on outstanding warrants out of Maryland.

The outstanding warrants were determined to be for Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Assault 1st degree, Firearm used during a felony, Assault 2nd degree, Reckless endangerment, Handgun on a person, and loaded Handgun on a person.

The firearm was determined to be a 9mm Smith and Wesson, loaded with fifteen (15) rounds in a magazine and one (1) round in the chamber.

Mr. Butler is to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful possession of a firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Reckless Operation of a motor vehicle, and Fugitive from Justice.
