At about 8:09 PM on July 4th, 2022, Officers assigned to District B2 conducted a traffic stop in the area of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Harrison Avenue and made an on-site firearm arrest of Aicad Joseph, 22, of Jamaica Plain.
Officers were on directed patrol when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers conducted a traffic stop and, as they spoke with the occupants, made several observations that led them to believe a firearm was in the vehicle. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the vehicle and recovered a loaded firearm. It was determined that Aicad Joseph would be charged for possession of the firearm.
The firearm was determined to be a Smith & Wesson MP40 with a laser attachment. The firearm was loaded with fifteen (15) rounds of ammunition.
The operator of the vehicle was issued a citation for speeding, Unregistered Motor-Vehicle, and Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.
Aicad Joseph is to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm (2nd Offense), Carrying a Loaded Firearm (2nd Offense), and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition (2nd offense).
