Officers Assigned to District B2 make an On-Site Firearm and Warrant Arrest Following Traffic Stop

At about 12:50 AM on Friday, July 15, 2022, Officers assigned to District B2 conducted a traffic stop in the area of 135 Dudley Street in Roxbury and made an on-site firearm arrest of Jermaine Seams, 42, of Dorchester, and an unrelated warrant arrest of Jerrod Brown-Carter, 34, Boston.

Officers were on directed patrol in the area of 135 Dudley Street when they queried a vehicle via CJIS and were able to determine that the registration for the vehicle was expired.  Officers conducted a traffic stop in the above area, and spoke with the operator of the vehicle, Jermaine Seams. Officers advised Seams, as well as the passenger Jerrod Brown-Carter that the vehicle would be towed and that they needed to exit the vehicle.  Brown-Carter advised officers that he had an active warrant.  Brown-Carter was taken into custody without further incident.  After initially refusing to exit the vehicle, Seams was removed from the vehicle.  A subsequent search of the vehicle prior to it being towed led to the recovery of a loaded firearm.  Seams was taken into custody without further incident.

The firearm was determined to be a privately made firearm with 10 rounds of ammunition in the magazine and one round inside of the chamber.

Jermaine Seams is to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Carrying a firearm without a license, and Operation of an Unregistered Motor-Vehicle.

Jerod W. Brown-Carter was placed under arrest for a Straight Warrant issued out of Boston District Court on unrelated charges.
